Chris and Lindsay Harvey – Operators

Chris & Lindsay Harvey with Everest & Huckleberry

Chris and Lindsay Harvey of Called To Wander have been traveling to Baja since 2019. They have spent 5-6 months each year since falling more and more in love with the people, places and adventures that can be found throughout the peninsula. This love for all things Baja has led them to write a Guide Book, start a Facebook Group and build a website dedicated to helping RVers and campers make the most of their Baja adventures while respecting the Mexican culture, landscapes and wildlife. With their passion to help campers explore and enjoy the Baja Peninsula, Chris and Lindsay have assumed the operations of Baja Amigos and look forward to helping you experience everything that made them fall in love with Baja!

Dan & Lisa Goy – Founders

Mexico City 1985

Our first camping vacation in Mexico was in 1985 traveling in our Class B. Our children were small (2 & 4 years old) and our parents and friends thought for sure we would never be seen again. This 4 month adventure would be a life altering experience as we fell in love with Mexico. We traveled down Baja, moving from beach to beach, then took the ferry from Cabo San Lucas to Puerto Vallarta on the mainland. We spent most of December just outside of Acapulco in Pie de la Cuesta and were invited to a Mexican family’s home for Xmas in Mexico City before returning home to BC. There is no doubt this experience changed our lives forever as we have continued to embrace RVing in Mexico in winter when possible, routinely since 2002. The Mexican camping experience is more than just tropical sun and fun, the culture and customs are truly unique and the people are wonderful, always willing to help and ready to make new friends that often last a lifetime.

Our love of Mexico was pivotal in the decision to start Baja Amigos RV Caravan Tours in 2008. Lisa’s 25 years of organizing camping fun & adventure for families with Girl Guides of Canada and Dan’s 30 years of experience working with people in diverse sectors of the economy including government and tourism ensure our tour delivers a Mexico RV experience of a lifetime.

Scott’s first trip to Baja was in the early 1960s with kids from the local YMCA, riding in the back of a truck, camping on the beach south of Ensenada, there he was bitten by the Baja bug and has made Baja and Mexico his getaway place ever since. Scott has led numerus RV caravans for the Vagabundos del Mar travel club and is an avid fisherman.  He continues to be an active members of Vags and currently is the Vice-President of the club.  Scott travels with his trusty sidekick, Della, a rescue dog who is also a Baja veteran. Larry & Janet Lammon

Larry & janet are avid fisherman and campers and have been visiting Baja since the 1960s with their families. They have been members of Vagabundos del Mar Mexican Travel Club for over two (2) decades and have been leading RV Caravans on Baja for the past three (3) years for the club and also organizing fishing tournaments. They first met Dan & Lisa a decade ago in Cabo San Lucas while both were leading an RV Caravan tour group and were impressed by their personal approach, on-tour excursions and limiting the caravans to small groups is a great concept.

They really look forward to our role as Wagon-Masters with Baja Amigos, and find it very rewarding introducing RVers to Baja for the first time who will be as amazed with the stunning beauty and wonderful people as they were. “Words really can’t express it; this must be experienced first-hand.”

Larry and Janet were both born and raised in California, married for more than 30 years raising their family in Los Angeles. Larry spent many years as a Beverly Hills Policeman before a teaching career with the Los County Office of Education. They began their travels to Mexico as many do, at an all-inclusive resort in the Mayan. Later they spent a week in Puerto Vallarta and thoroughly enjoyed, they were hooked. Following retirement, they joined an RV Caravan Baja Amigos Tour with Dan & Lisa leading the way, dropping off in Los Barriles for two months and loved it. The following 2015 winter, Dave & Darlene drove to Lo de Marcos on mainland Mexico and a wonderful time. The trip with Baja Amigos had given them the confidence to travel to Mexico on our own.  They have since spent winter exploring the many small towns from Puerto Vallarta to Mazatlan. They returned to Baja boondocking at Playa Santispac and later settling in their old haunt in Los Barriles.  Mexico is certainly their happy place.  “We love the friendly people, the culture, the weather and especially, the beaches.”

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and high school sweethearts, they have been happily married forty years and counting.  After their our two children, Jason and Shelley, were finished school they moved to the country northeast of the city.  They began full time RVing in 2014 and their son Jason, his wife Elfie and our two grandkids Colton (6) and Teegan (3) have moved back to Manitoba.

Lorne & Josie Parker Wagon Masters

They decided to retire early, get married and go RVing traveling extensively, exploring many tropical countries in the Caribbean including Belize, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama and, of course, Mexico. “After purchasing a Traveler’s Guide to Camping on Mexico’s Baja we spent the next 3 months exploring this magnificent peninsula. The people are so friendly, the food fantastic and scenery outstanding.”

They enjoyed everything Baja had to offer, including fishing, hiking in the mountains, and long walks on gorgeous beaches. Lorne & Josie love RVing and look forward to working with Baja Amigos RV Caravan Tours and sharing our enthusiasm about Mexico with other campers.
